FROM ABOVE, NEW SENSES

The Comandante Ferraz Antarctic Station is the green of the Amazon in the planet's most extreme white.

Estação Antártica Comandante Ferraz

The Comandante Ferraz Antarctic Station (EACF) is located on the Keller Peninsula, Admiralty Bay, in the South Shetland Islands. Its strategic position makes it the central pillar of Brazilian expeditions, serving as an advanced base for national science. With 45 modules and a capacity for 66 people, the structure is divided into three main blocks, designed to provide safety and comfort in one of the most challenging environments on planet Earth.

Operating under strict international standards, the Station is a model of sustainability: it utilizes a hybrid solar, wind, and diesel energy system to minimize environmental impact, ensuring that only what is essential for scientific progress remains on-site. Brazil plays a vital role in preserving this ecosystem, reaffirming its responsibility toward the continent's future. In the white map of the world's far south, the Amazon green marks belonging, international cooperation, and a commitment to science.
